Iowa Man Sentenced to 16 Years for Fatal Drag-Racing Crash

Keith Eric Jones, found guilty of multiple charges, must also pay $150,000 to the victim's family.

Keith Eric Jones, 48, of Des Moines, Iowa, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a drag-racing crash that resulted in the death of a 4-year-old boy, Marcos Faguada.
Jones was found guilty of homicide by vehicle, operating under the influence, reckless driving, and knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Another man involved in the incident, Robert Lee Miller III, was previously sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in the crash.
The crash occurred when Jones and Miller, after drinking at a bar, began racing on a four-lane road, reaching speeds of up to 108 mph before Miller's car crossed a median and struck a vehicle carrying Marcos and his aunt, Mayra De Catalan.
In addition to his prison sentence, Jones has been ordered to pay $150,000 to Marcos' family.
