Iowa Deputy AD Beth Goetz Named Interim Replacement for Retiring Gary Barta

Beth Goetz was named as interim athletic director at the University of Iowa, taking over for Gary Barta on August 1.
Goetz currently serves as deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at Iowa.
She is considered the leading candidate to permanently replace Barta when he retires in 2024.
Goetz previously served as athletic director at Ball State and held deputy roles at UConn and Minnesota.
Iowa will begin its search for Barta's permanent replacement next year.
