Overview

• Enable the look by long‑pressing the Home screen, choosing Edit > Customize > Tinted, then tapping the case icon and selecting Light, Dark, or Auto.
• The color match works only with Apple’s official MagSafe cases that include an NFC color identifier, and the case must be on the phone to be detected.
• For users without a compatible case, iOS 26 offers a separate option that tints icons to the color of the iPhone itself.
• Compared to iOS 18, Tinted now applies full chosen colors with white icon graphics in Light Mode and much darker shades in Dark Mode instead of pure black.
• iOS 26 is available now, and guides highlight how the system adjusts brightness, saturation, and contrast so icons stay legible while reflecting the selected tone.
