Overview

  • Support for Qi 2.2 (“Qi2 25W”) in the iOS 26 beta applies to iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, with the iPhone 16e excluded.
  • Third-party Qi2 25W chargers can now deliver up to 25W on those models, matching speeds previously limited to Apple’s MagSafe puck.
  • Belkin introduced three Qi2 25W stands and claims 0–50% in around 30 minutes on iPhone 16 running iOS 26.
  • Formal Qi2.2 certification for iPhone 16 models is still unclear and is expected to be resolved by the public iOS 26 rollout.
  • Coverage indicates the upcoming iPhone 17 line is expected to support Qi2 25W, and separate reports rumor reverse wireless charging on 17 Pro models.
