Overview

  • Adaptive Power uses real-time battery patterns to throttle background tasks, dim display brightness and slightly downclock processing to extend run time under heavy load.
  • Lock screen charge timers briefly flash predicted minutes to reach 80% and 100% battery and remain accessible in the redesigned Battery settings screen.
  • The revamped Battery menu offers weekly consumption charts, historical usage comparisons and alerts for apps consuming unusually high power.
  • Adaptive Power appears under Settings > Battery > Power Mode alongside Low Power Mode and can automatically enable Low Power Mode when battery levels drop to 20%.
  • The developer beta is available now on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models as well as iPads running iPadOS 26, with a public beta planned for mid-July ahead of a full fall release.
