Overview
- A new readout on the lock screen and in Battery settings estimates time to a full charge based on the user’s charge limit, which defaults to 80% under optimized charging.
- An on-screen “Slow Charger” notice appears with very low-power adapters such as 5W or 7.5W USB-A bricks and with wireless pads below roughly 10W.
- The notice is informational, indicating that slow charging will not damage the iPhone.
- Fast charging typically requires at least 18W over USB-C on iPhone 15 or newer, with MagSafe guidance at 20W for iPhone 15 or older and 30W from iPhone 16.
- iOS still detects and blocks incompatible chargers or faulty cables, showing a “Ladegerät nicht kompatibel” dialog and refusing to supply power.
