  • References in Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 and Google’s SIM Manager app reveal code pointing to a cross-platform eSIM handoff tool.
  • The option is expected under Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone and will only work on devices running iOS 19.
  • Users may move profiles wirelessly with a QR code backup or enter a session ID and passcode for manual transfers during Android setup.
  • US carriers have requested the feature to cut down on support calls when subscribers switch from iPhone to Android.
  • Apple is set to announce iOS 19, including the eSIM transfer capability, at its WWDC keynote on June 9, 2025.
