RCS, or Rich Communication Services, enhances texting between iPhone and Android users with features like typing indicators, read receipts, and high-quality media sharing.
The update also extends RCS functionality to international carriers such as Orange and Sosh in France, signaling a broader global rollout.
RCS support requires carrier implementation, and users can enable it in the Messages section of the iPhone's Settings app.
The public release of iOS 18.4 is scheduled for April, allowing more iPhone users to access these enhanced messaging capabilities.
