iOS 17 Set to Turn Locked iPhones Into Smart Displays

iOS 17 will reportedly feature a smart display mode that shows information on locked iPhones in landscape orientation.
The new interface may display weather,calendar events, notifications and more, similar to dedicated smart displays from Google and Amazon.
The smart display feature is rumored to be one of many changes in iOS 17, along with updates to the Wallet app, location services, SharePlay and AirPlay.
Apple is also said to be working on a low-cost tablet that can attach to walls and stands to serve as a smart home display.
The smart display mode and other iOS 17 features are expected to roll out later this year, possibly only for iPhone 12 models and newer.
