Overview

• On July 28, shooter Shane Tamura, 27, entered the lobby of 345 Park Avenue and opened fire, killing four people including Blackstone Real Estate Investment Trust CEO Wesley LePatner.
• Shane Tamura died by suicide at the scene; investigators recovered a note in which he cited CTE and an intent to target NFL offices in the building.
• The other victims included NYPD officer Didarul Islam, security guard Aland Etienne and Rudin Management employee Julia Hyman.
• Blackstone has held memorials for LePatner and the other victims, reflecting on her leadership, mentorship and civic engagement.
• Building owners and corporate tenants are conducting comprehensive reviews of lobby security and active-shooter preparedness in the wake of the attack.
