Investigators Extract Black Box Data in Air India AI-171 Crash Probe

  • Investigators accessed the Crash Protection Module on June 24 and downloaded its memory module from the front black box at the AAIB lab in Delhi on June 25.
  • Analysis of cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder recordings is underway to reconstruct AI-171’s final flight path and cockpit communications.
  • Officials anticipate preliminary findings on the crash’s causes within seven to ten days and plan to release a final report within about a month.
