Investigation Continues After Twin-Engine Plane Crashes in Howland Township

  • The twin-engine plane went down shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday in a wooded area behind a home on King Graves Road NE in Howland Township.
  • Howland Police Chief Ray Pace said a 911 caller heard a loud explosion and saw flames and smoke rising from the crash site.
  • Representatives from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Howland Police Department, the Trumbull County coroner’s office, HAZMAT and Ohio Edison were dispatched to secure the area.
  • Federal investigators from the FAA and NTSB are on scene alongside local authorities, enforcing road closures along King Graves and Henn Hyde roads.
  • Drones are being used to photograph and map the wreckage as teams work to determine the cause of the crash and any potential injuries.
