Overview

• Intruders entered through an unlocked patio door before 1 a.m. on June 7 and sprayed the nanny with bear mace while demanding to know where valuables were kept.
• The nanny escaped by biting a suspect’s hand and knocking on neighbors’ doors to call 911 as Macklemore’s three children slept upstairs.
• Thieves wearing black tactical vests, masks and gloves ransacked the house and stole jewelry, watches and shoes worth thousands of dollars.
• Officers arrived to find the home in disarray and safely removed the unharmed children, who were then placed in the care of family members.
• No arrests have been made and the Seattle Police Department continues investigating the incident.
