International Fraud Ring Tied to 2018 Vermont Murder Faces 2024 Trial

Two men facing federal charges for the 2018 abduction and killing of a Vermont man will go on trial in fall 2024.
The defendants, Serhat Gumrukcu and Berk Eratay, pleaded not guilty to wire fraud as part of an alleged international murder-for-hire conspiracy tied to an oil deal.
Jerry Banks pleaded guilty to abducting and killing Gregory Davis, who had threatened to report a fraudulent oil deal with Gumrukcu to the FBI.
Aren Lee Ethridge pleaded guilty in July and is awaiting sentencing.
Davis' body was found by the side of a snowy Vermont back road.
