International crackdown dismantles Balkan crime ring responsible for 60 killings

Greek police, with the aid of Interpol and Europol, have arrested 10 suspects linked to a decade-long drug feud between rival Balkan gangs.

The multinational investigation targeted the Kotor Clan, a criminal organization from Montenegro, which split into two factions over a drug dispute.
The feud has resulted in 60 deaths across Europe, including four gang members in Greece in 2020.
Police in Greece, Serbia, and Spain collaborated in the arrests, identifying 39 suspects in total.
The gangs utilized sophisticated methods, including encrypted messaging apps and migrant smuggling routes, for operations.
European police forces, including those from France, the Netherlands, and Belgium, played key roles in the operation.
