InterGlobe–CAE Venture to Open Mumbai Pilot Training Centre in Early 2026

The 44,000‑square‑foot site will start with two A320 simulators to build local, DGCA‑approved capacity near major airline hubs.

Overview

  • CSTPL, the InterGlobe Enterprises–CAE joint venture, announced a new facility in Mumbai that will deliver DGCA‑compliant type ratings, recurrent training and proficiency checks across Airbus, ATR and Boeing aircraft.
  • Operations are planned for the first quarter of 2026 with two Airbus A320 full‑flight simulators, and the centre is built for up to six simulator bays.
  • The location complements existing CSTPL centres in Greater Noida, Gurugram and Bengaluru, where the network has capacity for 23 full‑flight simulators.
  • CAE’s 2025 Aviation Talent Forecast projects demand for 98,000 new pilots in Asia Pacific by 2034, and a CAE executive estimates India may need about 20,000 pilots over the next decade.
  • India’s civil aviation minister projects 30,000 pilot hires over two decades as commercial pilot licences issued in 2024 fell 17% year on year to 1,342.
