InterGlobe–CAE JV to Open Mumbai Pilot Training Centre in Q1 2026

The 44,000-square-foot site expands India’s flight-training capacity to address projected pilot shortfalls.

Overview

  • Operations are slated for the first quarter of 2026 with two Airbus A320 full‑flight simulators, with room to expand to six bays.
  • The centre will provide DGCA‑compliant type ratings, recurrent training and proficiency checks across Airbus, ATR and Boeing aircraft.
  • It complements CSTPL’s facilities in Greater Noida, Gurugram and Bengaluru, which together have capacity for 23 simulators.
  • CAE cites demand for as many as 20,000 new pilots in India over the next decade and 98,000 across Asia‑Pacific by 2034.
  • India’s civil aviation minister projects 30,000 hires in two decades, while commercial pilot licences issued in 2024 fell 17% to 1,342.
