Inter Miami to Celebrate Lionel Messi's Record Eighth Ballon d'Or with Friendly Against NYCFC on Nov. 10

Lionel Messi to be honored during pregame ceremony including speeches from team owner and MLS commissioner; match also serves as tune-up before Messi joins Argentina for World Cup qualifying games.

Inter Miami CF has scheduled a friendly against New York City FC to honor Lionel Messi's record eighth Ballon d'Or award - the first active MLS player to win the award.
The event, termed as 'Noche d'Or' or 'Night of Gold', will take place on Nov. 10 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, and will include a pregame ceremony with speeches from Messi himself, team owner Jorge Mas, and MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
Match attendees at DRV PNK Stadium will have the opportunity to see Messi's historic trophy prior to the match kickoff.
Before joining Inter Miami in July 2023, Messi had an illustrious career winning the 2022 World Cup championship with Argentina and the 2022-23 Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
The friendly is also a critical tune-up for Messi who hasn't played since Inter Miami's season ended in October, as he prepares to join Argentina for World Cup qualifying games.
