Intelsat and Starfish Space Partner for First Commercial Satellite Servicing Mission

The 2026 mission will extend the operational life of a geostationary Intelsat satellite using Starfish's Otter spacecraft.

Starfish Space's Otter will dock with a retired Intelsat satellite to validate its capabilities before servicing an operational satellite.
The mission aims to provide several more years of life to the Intelsat satellite using Otter's onboard propulsion system.
This agreement marks Starfish's first commercial mission and aims to set a new standard for on-orbit satellite servicing.
Intelsat has previously engaged in satellite life extension but this is their first collaboration with Starfish Space.
Starfish Space also secured a $37.5 million contract with the U.S. Space Force for a separate mission in 2026.
