INSV 'Tarini' Embarks on Final Leg of Global Circumnavigation

Ceremonially flagged off from Cape Town, the Indian Navy vessel is set to conclude its historic journey in Goa by the end of May 2025.

INSV 'Tarini' was ceremonially flagged off from Cape Town on April 15, 2025, for the final leg of its global circumnavigation under the Navika Sagar Parikrama II expedition.
The vessel, crewed by women officers Lt Cdr Dilna K and Lt Cdr Roopa A, emphasizes gender equality and the role of women in the Indian Navy.
During its Cape Town stopover, the vessel hosted diplomatic engagements and outreach events with dignitaries including the High Commissioner of India to South Africa and local leaders.
The expedition highlights India's maritime heritage, indigenous shipbuilding capabilities, and commitment to promoting ocean sailing and women empowerment.
INSV 'Tarini' is expected to reach Goa by the end of May 2025, marking the successful completion of its circumnavigation journey that began on October 2, 2024.
