Overview
- Meta began rolling out Grid Reordering to Instagram users on Monday, June 8, and the feature is now appearing for accounts worldwide in the mobile apps.
- Users reorder posts by long-pressing a post on their profile, choosing the “Reorder grid” option, and dragging posts to new positions in a drag-and-drop interface.
- Pinned posts and Reels remain fixed at the top of profiles and cannot be moved during reordering, and changes save immediately for profile visitors to see.
- Reordering only changes display order on the profile; original posting dates, captions, comments, likes, and engagement metrics stay intact.
- The feature answers a long-running user request that surfaced in code scans in 2022 and after public teases from Instagram leadership, giving creators a way to resurface older work and curate a visual narrative without reposting.
