Instagram Lets Users Rearrange Profile Grids

Meta framed the update as a careful response to long-running user requests and delivered it on mobile through a simple long-press drag tool.

Overview

  • Instagram began a global rollout of its Grid Reordering feature on Monday, June 8, 2026, giving users direct control over the order of posts on their profile page.
  • Users reorder posts by long-pressing any post, selecting “Reorder grid,” and dragging posts into the order they want, and there is no limit on how many times a user can rearrange their grid.
  • Pinned posts and pinned Reels remain fixed at the top of profiles and are not moved by the Grid Reordering tool.
  • The feature is available only on Instagram’s mobile app for smartphones and tablets and does not include desktop support at launch.
  • Meta said the change answers a long-standing request from creators and longtime users, letting people resurface older posts, group multi-part content, and shape a profile’s visual story without archiving or deleting content.
