Overview

  • Instagram’s grid rearrangement feature will be available to all users on the mobile app the week of June 16, letting profiles be customized by pressing and holding a post or selecting “Edit Grid” to drag and drop content
  • Quiet posting, now in testing, will allow users to add photos and videos to their profile without broadcasting them to followers’ main feeds, providing a low-pressure sharing option
  • A new Spotify integration lets users share any track they’re listening to in real time to their Instagram Notes, complete with a distinctive note effect that updates as the song plays
  • Drafts, Instagram’s initiative to support emerging creators, will partner with talent on financial backing, networking and co-ideation opportunities rather than a fixed fund
  • First conceived in 2022 and revisited this year, these updates reflect Instagram’s broader strategy to boost engagement and give users more flexibility over their creative expression
