Insomniac Games Hit by Ransomware Attack; Sony Investigating

Rhysida Group Threatens to Auction Off Stolen Data, Including Details of Upcoming Wolverine Game

Insomniac Games, the developer behind Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine, has reportedly been hacked by the ransomware group Rhysida.
The group claims to have obtained personal data of current and former employees, internal emails, confidential documents, and details about the in-development Wolverine game.
Rhysida has set a seven-day deadline for a ransom payment, threatening to auction off the data for a starting price of 50 bitcoins, approximately $2 million.
Sony, which owns Insomniac Games, is currently investigating the situation and has stated that no other Sony divisions appear to have been impacted.
This is the third ransomware attack on Sony this year, following breaches in May and September.
