Insa Polls Show CDU Strong in NRW as AfD Leads Nationally and Faces Less Rejection

The latest survey records only 49% categorically ruling out the AfD, expanding its estimated voter potential to about 33%.

Overview

  • In North Rhine-Westphalia, the CDU polls at 36% in the state Sonntagsfrage, while the SPD falls to 19% and the Greens to about 12%.
  • The AfD reaches roughly 16% in NRW, Die Linke is at 7% with a possible return to the Landtag, and the FDP sits on the 5% threshold.
  • Nationwide, Insa’s Sonntagstrend shows the AfD at 26% ahead of the CDU/CSU at about 25–25.5%, with the SPD at 15%, the Greens at 11%, Die Linke at 10.5%, the FDP at 3%, and BSW at 4%.
  • In the negative Sonntagsfrage, 26% say they will vote AfD and another 7% say it is possible, indicating a combined potential near one third of the electorate.
  • Reporters note the figures are snapshots with methodological limits, and the next NRW state election is still roughly a year and a half away.
