Overview
- The Indian Navy confirmed that both vessels are on their maiden overseas deployment to Colombo for International Fleet Review 2025.
- The review runs through 29 November as part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s 75th anniversary, drawing ships, delegations and observers from multiple countries.
- INS Vikrant and INS Udaygiri delivered humanitarian supplies to Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu, including 4.5 tonnes of dry rations and 2 tonnes of fresh rations.
- The carrier is operating with MiG-29K fighter jets and helicopters, and at about 47,000 tonnes it is the largest warship built in India.
- During the port call, the ships are taking part in the ceremonial fleet review, a city parade, community outreach and professional interactions, and they have been opened to visitors.
