INS Vikrant, INS Udaygiri Make First Overseas Deployment for Sri Lanka Fleet Review

  • The Indian Navy confirmed that both vessels are on their maiden overseas deployment to Colombo for International Fleet Review 2025.
  • The review runs through 29 November as part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s 75th anniversary, drawing ships, delegations and observers from multiple countries.
  • INS Vikrant and INS Udaygiri delivered humanitarian supplies to Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu, including 4.5 tonnes of dry rations and 2 tonnes of fresh rations.
  • The carrier is operating with MiG-29K fighter jets and helicopters, and at about 47,000 tonnes it is the largest warship built in India.
