A young cousin of Princes William and Harry has been found dead in tragic circumstances.

Overview

  • On July 21, coroner Grant Davies opened an inquest into the July 14 discovery of 20-year-old Rosie Roche at her family home in Norton, Wiltshire, with a firearm nearby
  • Roche’s mother and sister found her body as she was packing for a trip and the inquiry was adjourned until October 25 for further examination
  • The coroner confirmed police deemed the death non-suspicious and ruled out any third-party involvement in Roche’s passing
  • A Durham University English Literature student, Roche was described by a university spokeswoman as someone who “will be sorely missed”
  • The inquiry follows a February 2024 verdict that another royal cousin, Thomas Kingston, died by suicide under similar circumstances and has fueled debate over mental health support and firearm access
