Inquest Opens Into Crib Goch Death of Bolton Father, 36

Further investigations follow an inquest opening that recorded a provisional cause of multiple injuries from a fall.

  • Thomas (Tom) Smith, a 36-year-old father of three from Bolton, fell from the Crib Goch ridge on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) at about 11:30 a.m. on August 16 and died at the scene.

  • A search-and-rescue helicopter medic confirmed Smith’s death after teams located him on the ridge.
