- On 15 September Noah Woods left an under‑fives play area in Brantham through a gap in internal fencing, passed into the Anita Rose memorial garden via an open gate, and ran toward Decoy Pond while a relative followed.
- A large multi‑agency search involving about 1,300 volunteers, police, coastguard and fire crews was mounted and Metropolitan Police divers recovered a child’s body from Decoy Pond on 16 September.
- A post‑mortem at Addenbrooke’s recorded the medical cause of death as pending further investigation and Suffolk Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
- Brantham Parish Council reported the internal fence break and has since filled the gap and added a gate latch to secure the route between the playground and memorial garden.
- East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust has launched an internal probe into alleged inappropriate access to Noah’s medical records, reported the matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and press reports say staff have been removed from duty pending the investigation.
