INPS Sets 2026 Multi‑Year Nursery Bonus Rules, Extends Eligible Services

Applicants must book funds annually with proof of payment or enrollment.

Overview

  • INPS circular 123/2025 implements the new framework from 1 January 2026, making approved requests valid for the reference year and subsequent years until August of the child’s third year, subject to continued eligibility and yearly fund reservation.
  • The contribution now covers nidi, micronidi, sezioni primavera and authorised home‑based educational services under regional rules, while expenses for family centres and non‑educational offerings such as prescuola or post‑scuola remain excluded.
  • For 2025, applications are already open with a reported deadline of 31 December 2025, and the benefit is means‑tested by ISEE with reported annual caps of €3,000, €2,500 or €1,500, while ANSA notes ceilings up to €3,600 for children born from 2024.
  • Applicants must indicate the months requested, up to a maximum of eleven, and provide proof of at least one monthly fee paid, with enrollment or ranking documentation accepted for public nurseries that bill after attendance.
  • For home support to children with severe chronic illnesses, a family pediatrician must certify the child’s inability to attend early‑childhood services for the full calendar year.
