Overview
- INPS opened the application service in message no. 3343 on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and mothers can apply online, via patronati or the Contact Center until December 31, 2026 with a January 31, 2027 deadline for cases that crystallize in December.
- The benefit increases from €40 to €60 per month for each month worked in 2026, can total up to €720, and is paid as one lump-sum in December 2026 or starting January 2027 if administrative checks are not finished in time.
- Family eligibility requires either two children with the youngest under 10 or three or more children with the youngest under 18, and adopted or pre-adoptive foster children count for the threshold.
- Work and income rules cover public and private employees (including intermittent and agency contracts) and self-employed workers including professionals with pension funds and Gestione separata, exclude domestic workers, and require 2026 work earnings of €40,000 or less.
- The bonus cannot be combined with a separate pension-contribution exemption available through December 31, 2026 for some mothers with three or more children and permanent contracts; applicants must self-certify data, pass INPS automated checks and may request a review online if the claim is rejected or only partially accepted.
