Overview
- INPS opened the application portal on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with message n.3343 and set the primary deadline at December 31, 2026 and a January 31, 2027 deadline for cases where eligibility is achieved in December.
- The benefit pays €60 for each month or fraction of month worked in 2026, up to 12 months and a maximum of €720, and it is tax free and exempt from social contributions.
- Family rules require two children with the youngest under 10 or three or more children with the youngest under 18, counting adopted and pre‑adoptive foster children.
- Work rules cover public and private employees, intermittent and agency contracts, and self‑employed workers including those in Gestione separata while excluding domestic workers, and months are credited only when work is actually in progress.
- Applicants must apply via the INPS website, the Contact Center or through patronati using a digital ID (SPID level 2, CIE level 3, CNS or eIDAS), INPS will run administrative checks that can accept, partially accept or reject claims, and mothers with three or more children who hold a permanent contract are excluded because they instead benefit from a separate contribution exemption through December 31, 2026.
