Overview
- In a national notice active from Thursday 9:15 a.m. to Friday 10:00 a.m. (local time), INMET flags heavy rain and strong winds across parts of the Center-West, Southeast, North and Northeast.
- Nearly all of Tocantins is under an orange-level warning for storms, with potential wind gusts up to 100 km/h and up to 100 mm of rain in 24 hours, while the Bico do Papagaio area remains under a lower yellow alert.
- INMET also issued an orange alert for 81 municipalities in Bahia, citing intense rain, 60–100 km/h winds and a chance of hail, with risks that include flooding, fallen trees and power outages.
- Reports note rain already affecting cities such as Palmas, and forecasts indicate showers and thunderstorms will persist into the weekend in several Tocantins locations.
- Authorities advise avoiding shelter under trees during gusts, keeping vehicles away from towers and large signs, unplugging electronics when possible, and consulting Civil Defense (199) or the Fire Department (193) for guidance.
