INMET Extends Multi‑State Rain and Wind Alerts Through Sunday as Flooding Hits Cities

Overview

• Fresh INMET advisories issued Saturday keep large areas of the North, Northeast, Central‑West and Southeast under yellow or orange alerts through December 7.
• Bahia lists more than 200 municipalities under alerts this weekend, with higher risk flagged in the west and extreme south; Salvador is not included.
• Tocantins stays largely under orange status with forecast winds of 60–100 km/h and daily rain totals that can reach 100 mm in parts of the state.
• Piauí expands to 221 municipalities under alerts through Sunday morning, with 28 in the Sudoeste zone at risk for accumulations up to 100 mm and associated urban impacts.
• Confirmed impacts include 59.8 mm of rain and urban flooding in Petrolina (PE), flooding and fallen trees in Montes Claros and Uberlândia (MG), and a house collapse that left 10 people displaced in Medeiros Neto (BA).
