Injury Forces Tatiana Suarez Out of UFC 298; Mackenzie Dern Steps in

Suarez assures fans the setback is minor and she will not be sidelined for long.

Tatiana Suarez, the top UFC women's strawweight fighter, has pulled out of her scheduled contender fight against Amanda Lemos at UFC 298 due to an undisclosed injury.
Mackenzie Dern will fill in against Lemos in Suarez's place at the event scheduled for Feb. 17 in Anaheim, California.
Suarez, who is ranked No. 4 in the world, assured her fans via Instagram that the injury is a minor setback and she will not be out for a long time.
Lemos, ranked No. 2 in the world, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to champion Zhang Weili at UFC 292 in August.
Dern, ranked No. 8, is coming off a TKO loss to former champ Jessica Andrade at UFC 295 in November.
