Infonavit to Cancel 2 Million Paid-Off Mortgages and Expedite Titles in Quintana Roo

Overview

  • Infonavit confirmed a nationwide program to cover the average 15,000-peso fee for roughly two million eligible homeowners who have finished paying their mortgages but have not obtained clear titles.
  • An agreement with the government of Quintana Roo will use inter-agency coordination with the public registry and finance secretariat to free and release 51,000 mortgage files without cost to beneficiaries.
  • The institute raised its sexenio housing target from 500,000 to 1.2 million homes under the Vivienda para el Bienestar initiative.
