Overview
- Infonavit has begun building 8,127 60 m² apartments in four-story complexes across Benito Juárez, Chetumal and Playa del Carmen.
- Invitation letters are being sent to workers earning one to two minimum wages to start the application process for subsidized credits.
- Credits of up to 600,000 pesos will reduce the market price of each unit from about one million pesos thanks to donated land and tax waivers.
- The first apartments are slated for delivery in December 2025 as a pilot for Sedatu’s six-year plan to construct 1.2 million social homes nationwide.
- Conavi, Fovissste and the National Housing Finance Fund are coordinating with Infonavit to secure land and streamline federal subsidies for the program.
