- Urban eligibility now requires homes to be within 2 km of primary schools, markets, recreation and main roads, within 2.5 km of secondary schools and health centers, and within travel times of 30 minutes walking, 20 by bicycle or 45 by public transport.
- Properties must have potable water, electricity and drainage and be located in areas with established road and transport infrastructure.
- In smaller localities the permitted distances expand, from Semiurban Plena (2.5 km to secondary schools/health; 2 km to primaries and services) up to Rural areas (4 km to secondary/health; 3.5 km to primaries).
- Infonavit advises buyers to check that a specific home meets the distance and service thresholds and to review their available credit in Mi Cuenta Infonavit before applying.
- Crediterreno lets beneficiaries use subaccount savings plus 35% of the authorized credit for land and 65% for construction, with three construction disbursements and requirements that include active employment, prequalification, a recent electronic appraisal, Buró de Crédito authorization, the mandatory course and Afore registration, with reported interest rates of about 6.5%–11%.
