Overview
- Jack Watkin, 26, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court to four years and six months for six fraud counts plus 18 months for indecent image offences, to be served consecutively.
- Prosecutors said he defrauded six victims of about £195,000 by promising access to exclusive Hermès bags, including losses to friend Hannah Jaques, boutique owner Christine Colbert and his father.
- Police forensic work found more than 600 indecent child images on his devices, including 274 category A and several moving images, resulting in separate convictions earlier this year.
- He was first arrested in March 2024 after victims coordinated with police to meet him at a prearranged location, with a further arrest made in October 2024 during the continuing investigation.
- He must sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and comply with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and detectives say additional victims may still be unreported.
