Influencer Camilo Ochoa, ‘El Alucín,’ Is Fatally Shot in Morelos Apartment

Investigators are reviewing whether public accusations on January flyers factored into the killing.

Overview

  • Family members found Ochoa around 5 p.m. on August 16 inside the bathroom of his Temixco residence with multiple gunshot wounds, and paramedics confirmed his death.
  • Witnesses reported a hooded man in a gray sweatshirt and jeans shot him at close range and fled in a white Chevrolet, and no arrests have been reported.
  • The Morelos state prosecutor’s office opened a homicide case and is coordinating with state and federal authorities under the local security mechanism.
  • Ochoa appeared on flyers distributed in Culiacán in January that accused 25 influencers and musicians of collaborating with a Sinaloa Cartel faction, and several people named have since been killed.
  • Hours before his death he posted a reel showing clothing and personal items and signed off with “Ocupo más haters,” and he had previously said he was receiving threats.
