Infiniti Reveals One-Off 1,000-HP GT-R–Powered QX80 R-Spec for SEMA

The one-off SEMA build is a brand statement, not a production model.

Overview

  • Infiniti confirmed the three-row concept will appear at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas as a single build not destined for production or media drives.
  • The SUV swaps in a GT-R Nismo–sourced VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 tuned for roughly 1,000 horsepower via Garrett G-series turbos, 2,600cc injectors and a MoTeC ECU.
  • Reinforced internals and cooling include JE pistons, Boostline rods, ARP hardware, ETS manifolds, twin front-mount intercoolers and CSF engine and transmission coolers.
  • Chassis changes span GT-R carbon-ceramic brakes, an electronic locking rear differential, three-way MCS coilovers with Eibach springs, a relocated steering rack and revised knuckles.
  • GT-R-inspired styling cues feature a wide-body kit, bronze 24-inch wheels on 315-section Yokohamas and a color-shifting Midnight Purple wrap, as Infiniti signals interest in future higher-performance QX80 variants.
