- Inegi counted 33,550 homicides in 2024, up 4.02% from 2023’s 32,252, placing homicide as the eighth leading cause of death.
- Diseases of the heart, diabetes mellitus and malignant tumors were the three leading causes of death nationwide.
- Health-related conditions accounted for 89.6% of registered deaths, while external causes such as accidents, homicides and suicides represented 10.4%.
- Inegi’s figures indicate 203,786 homicides across 2019–2024, and men accounted for 55.9% of all deaths in 2024.
