- MOLEC 2025 reports that 79.1% of literate people aged 12 and over read at least one material in the past year.
- Young people are the strongest readers, with 89.1% of those aged 12–24 reporting they read some material.
- Books remain the top choice among readers at roughly eight in ten, while internet pages, forums or blogs rank second at about six in ten.
- Reading on social networks is widespread at roughly 83.5 million people, with 16.2% reading only on those platforms.
- Print still dominates book reading at 81.3% while 33.3% also use digital formats, and weekly newspaper reading has dropped to about 24.8% from 48.8% in 2015.
