Indrani Mukerjea Seeks Clarity on Daughter's Witness Status in Sheena Bora Murder Trial

The CBI's exclusion of Vidhie Mukerjea from its priority witness list has prompted Indrani to request permission to meet her daughter.

Indrani Mukerjea, accused in the 2012 murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, has asked the court for clarity on whether her younger daughter, Vidhie, will be called as a witness.
The CBI submitted a priority list of 69 witnesses but excluded Vidhie, citing a focus on expediting the trial, while leaving open the possibility of calling other witnesses later if needed.
Indrani expressed emotional distress over being unable to meet Vidhie, who had previously filed an unsuccessful plea in 2022 to live with and care for her mother due to Indrani's health issues.
The defense argues that the lack of clarity regarding Vidhie's witness status hinders their ability to prepare a comprehensive defense strategy.
The trial centers on allegations that Indrani, along with her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai, murdered Sheena over personal and financial disputes in 2012, with all accused currently out on bail.
