Recent surveys show Prabowo leading, with Ganjar second and Anies a distant third.
The three candidates have vowed to hold a peaceful 75-day election campaign without politicizing ethnicity, religion, and race.
If none of the candidates secures more than 50% of the votes in the first round, a runoff between the top two is scheduled for June 26.
About 205 million of Indonesia's more than 270 million population are eligible to vote in the election.
