Inditex Debuts High-Tech Zara and Britain’s Largest Bershka at Trafford Centre

Inditex’s new concept stores at Trafford Centre bring immersive tech, sustainability, 175 local jobs to the former M&S unit.

  • The 3,000 m² Zara concept store features four separate entrances, dedicated women’s, men’s, children’s and a first-ever baby boutique.
  • Zara introduces UK-first assisted-checkout desks in place of tills, an automated returns system in changing rooms plus packaging recycling and clothing donation points.
  • Bershka’s 1,200 m² outlet, now the UK’s largest, is split into mainline, BSK teen and MAN menswear zones and includes AR fitting mirrors with an NTS-curated in-store DJ.
  • The two openings have created 175 new roles—75 at Zara and 100 at Bershka—underscoring Inditex’s shift toward immersive, concept-led retail in Greater Manchester.
