IndiGo Sets FY26 Long-Haul Expansion with 10 New Global Routes

The carrier is using damp-leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to open Europe and Central Asia services in pursuit of a 40 percent international capacity share.

Overview

  • IndiGo will launch direct flights this fiscal to 10 overseas destinations—including London, Athens, Copenhagen, Siem Reap and four Central Asian cities served from Mumbai—to grow its network to 51 international points.
  • Long-haul debut services from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam begin in July using two of six damp-leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners provided under an agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways.
  • All six leased 787-9s are due for delivery by March 2026 and four additional units will arrive by the end of the year to support expanded frequencies.
  • Future fleet plans include inducting extra-long-range A321XLR jets next fiscal and Airbus A350-900 wide-bodies from 2027 to extend reach into Europe and beyond.
  • Passengers on Europe and UK routes will receive complimentary hot meals and the domestic network will grow to 95 stations with inaugural operations at Jewar and Navi Mumbai airports.
