Overview

  • IndiGo operated the inaugural outbound flight 6E 1085 on Tuesday, departing Guwahati at 6:15 pm and scheduled to arrive in Bangkok at 10:45 pm local time.
  • Airport authorities said regular twice-weekly services will begin on October 31 and operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays in both directions.
  • The return service is listed as flight 6E 1086, scheduled to leave Bangkok at 8:50 am and arrive in Guwahati at 10:25 am local time on service days.
  • LGBI’s upgraded Terminal 2 and Adani Airport management were cited as key enablers of the international link, with the terminal recently named on the Prix Versailles list and the airport now serving five international and 24 domestic destinations.
  • Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the link as aligned with the Act East policy and officials say the direct connection should make travel easier for people in the Northeast, boost tourism and trade, and increase onward connectivity via Bangkok.
