IndiGo Flight Diverts to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar After Passenger Dies Mid-Air

An 89-year-old woman experienced a fatal medical emergency, prompting an emergency landing and coordinated response from authorities.

An IndiGo Airlines flight on the Mumbai-Varanasi route made an emergency landing at Chikalthana Airport on Sunday night due to a medical emergency onboard.
Sushila Devi, an 89-year-old passenger from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, fell seriously ill shortly after takeoff and was declared dead upon landing.
The flight landed at approximately 10 pm, where a medical team examined the passenger and confirmed her death.
Local police at the MIDC CIDCO station completed formalities, and the deceased's body was sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Following the emergency response, the flight resumed its journey to Varanasi after all procedures were completed.
