Overview
- Shortly after landing at around 11:30 AM on August 5, a rear tyre burst on an IndiGo Airbus at Dumna Airport, prompting the aircraft to be grounded.
- All passengers had disembarked safely before the incident and no injuries were reported.
- A replacement tyre arrived from Delhi by 3:15 PM, allowing the Jabalpur–Mumbai flight to depart at 5:30 PM.
- Stranded passengers were rerouted via Bengaluru and Delhi to minimise further disruption.
- The tyre failure adds to a string of technical incidents since late June that have led the DGCA to intensify oversight of IndiGo’s maintenance operations.
